The Raleigh Estate

The Raleigh Estate comprises some 1000 acres of land in South Devon to the north of the historic port town of Dartmouth.

In the ownership of the Raleigh family since the 1870s the estate today manages a varied portfolio of activities including farming, forestry, river moorings and outdoor activities.

The estate is situated in the South Hams of South Devon and, typically for this area, consists of steep wooded valleys, rolling countryside and fertile farmland.

The highest point is 173m above sea level at 'Coronation Copse', dropping down to the banks of the River Dart and Old Mill Creek.

Much of the estate lies with the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and there are also sections designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
